# Key Terms (Glossary)

The rest of the docs use these terms often. Skim them once, then refer back whenever a word is unfamiliar.
For how the core objects relate to each other, see [Resources](/get-started/resources/).

## Core objects

| Term | What it means |
|------|----------------|
| **Product** | Your listing on a cloud marketplace — the thing you sell. Manage all of yours in [Products](/get-started/products/). |
| **Offer** | How a buyer can purchase a product. Either a **public offer** (self-serve, listed for anyone) or a **private offer** (negotiated for a specific buyer). |
| **Public offer** | A standard, publicly listed offer any buyer can accept without negotiation. |
| **Private offer** | A custom, negotiated offer (price, terms, duration) extended to one buyer. See [Private Offers](/get-started/private-offers/). |
| **Entitlement** | The active contract created when a buyer accepts an offer — what the buyer is entitled to use, and the record you meter and bill against. |
| **Buyer** | The customer who purchased your product in a marketplace. |
| **Company** | A customer account in Suger that groups the buyers, contacts, and deals for one organization. See [Companies](/get-started/company/). |

## Selling and billing

| Term | What it means |
|------|----------------|
| **Quote-to-cash** | The full journey from quoting a deal to collecting the cash — Suger centralizes this for marketplace deals. |
| **Metering** | Reporting how much a customer used so usage-based pricing can be billed. See [Usage Metering](/get-started/metering/). |
| **Usage dimension** | A named unit you meter on (e.g. seats, API calls, GB). |
| **Disbursement** | The payout the cloud marketplace sends you after collecting a buyer's payment (minus the marketplace fee). See [How You Get Paid](/get-started/how-you-get-paid/). |
| **Entitlement terms** | The commit, included quantity, and pricing attached to an entitlement — the basis for [Usage Credits](/get-started/usage-credit/). |

## Co-sell and partners

| Term | What it means |
|------|----------------|
| **Co-sell** | Selling jointly with a cloud provider's sales team; you share a deal ("referral") with the cloud so their reps help close it. |
| **Referral** | A co-sell deal shared between you and a cloud partner (inbound from the partner, or outbound from you). |

## Marketplace acronyms

| Term | What it means |
|------|----------------|
| **CPPO** | Channel Partner Private Offer (AWS) — a private offer sold through a reseller/channel partner. |
| **MPO / MPPO** | Multiparty Private Offer (Azure) — a private offer involving a publisher and a reseller. |
| **MCPO** | Multi-party / channel private offer variant — a partner-mediated private offer. |
| **ABO** | Agreement-Based Offer — a private offer created against an existing marketplace agreement. |
| **EULA** | End-User License Agreement — the license terms a buyer accepts. |
| **TCV** | Total Contract Value — the full value of a deal over its term. |

## Access and setup

| Term | What it means |
|------|----------------|
| **RBAC** | Role-Based Access Control — standard and custom roles that decide what each teammate can do. See [Account](/get-started/account/). |
| **BYOK** | Bring Your Own Key — using your own model-provider API key for AI features instead of Suger's. |
| **Marketplace account** | Your seller account on a specific cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, …), connected to Suger during onboarding. |
